Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Prior to founding Grand Portage Partners, Sam worked as an investor at Norwest Equity Partners in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before joining Norwest, Sam was at TPG Capital, a San Francisco-based global investment firm. Sam met Dan at Lazard in New York City, where he and Dan provided corporate advisory services to clients in the Telecom, Media, and Technology sectors.
Sam got his first taste for entrepreneurship when he co-founded a laundry service company, Lone Pine Laundry, with three friends in college.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Sam attended Harvard Business School for his MBA and received his BA from Dartmouth College.
Sam enjoys spending time with his wife Jen and two daughters. Sam can be found biking, running, and golfing in his spare time.
Sam Seehof
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Prior to founding Grand Portage Partners, Dan was Head of Investment at Heyday, a platform for consumer products companies. Before joining Heyday, Dan spent six years at Madison Dearborn Partners, a Chicago-based investment firm, where he led new acquisitions, supported portfolio companies, and spent a year as Senior Vice President of M&A at The Amynta Group. Dan worked with Sam at Lazard in the TMT practice.
Dan has significant experience partnering with small business founders and entrepreneurs having led over 20 investments in SMBs during his time at Madison Dearborn, Heyday and The Amynta Group.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dan attended the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University where he received an MBA and BA.
In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife Molly and his son around Chicago or at the cabin in Wisconsin.
